In short

Mitchell Metals supplied and installed a 3-box cantilever CBU mail kiosk cover at the Holcomb Woods office park in Roswell, Georgia, for Ace Maintenance Solutions. The structure measures 8′ x 12′ 2″ in Bronze on 6×6 extruded aluminum, and is Mitchell Metals’ first office park installation.

Overview

The first one that isn't a neighbourhood

Holcomb Woods is an office park on Holcomb Woods Parkway in Roswell, Georgia. Ace Maintenance Solutions, a facilities company working across metro Atlanta, brought Mitchell Metals in as part of a wider refresh of the property — and specifically to replace the mail delivery area.

It is the first commercial installation in this portfolio. Every other project here is a residential community, which makes this one worth more than its three boxes suggest.

An office park has a different problem

A neighbourhood mail center serves residents who walk to it. An office park mail center serves tenants who park, cross a lot, collect post and leave — often in business clothes, often in a hurry, in whatever weather. It sits in a parking field rather than on a landscaped island, and it has to look like it belongs to a commercial property rather than like something borrowed from a subdivision.

The cantilever suits that. Posts on one side only means tenants approach the boxes straight off the walk with nothing in the way, and the structure tucks against the edge of the lot instead of occupying a parking bay.

Why the same system works here

Nothing about the product changed. Same extruded aluminum, same Bronze finish, same pre-engineered connections — specified at a scale and configuration suited to a commercial property instead of a residential one. Which is the useful finding: the system is not a residential product that happens to work elsewhere. It is a canopy system.

The frame is extruded aluminum, so nothing rusts in a parking field. It is engineered to ASCE 7-16 wind and snow loads and designed to meet ADA and IBC requirements, with cluster box placement following the USPS Builders/Developers Guide.

Why these specs were chosen

Cantilever configuration. Posts on one side only. Tenants approach straight off the walk, and the structure sits against the edge of the lot rather than taking a bay.

8′ x 12′ 2″. Scaled to the tenant count rather than a neighbourhood’s. Compact, but full depth so people are actually covered while they collect post.

6×6 posts and beams. Heavier than the twelve-foot span strictly requires — chosen because a structure standing alone in a parking field needs presence to read as deliberate.

Bronze finish. Factory-applied on extruded aluminum, which matters in a parking field where there is nothing to shelter it and no landscape to soften it.

Yes. Holcomb Woods in Roswell, Georgia is an office park, and the same pre-engineered extruded aluminum system used for residential communities applies directly — specified at a scale and configuration suited to tenant counts and parking-lot siting rather than to a neighbourhood island.

The users arrive by car rather than on foot, so siting follows the parking and the walks instead of a landscaped island. Tenant counts are usually lower than a subdivision’s, so the structures are smaller. And the cover has to look like it belongs to a commercial property, which usually means a cleaner profile and a finish that holds up with no landscape around it to soften the setting.
